Polina Shuvalova learned chess at the age of five and soon started to go for training at the Orsk chess club. She was playing in different youth championships, but her biggest success was winning the European U12 championship with a score of 9/9 in Budva.
Then she moved to Moscow and in 2015 entered the organization “Youth of Moscow”. Soon, she started playing in non-aged tournaments. Her last and biggest success in youth chess was winning U18 and U20 world championships in New Dehli and Mumbai in October 2019, also achieving the WGM title.
Since 2017 she started qualifying for the Russian superfinals, and in 2020 she was a vice-champion. Starting in 2021, she also became a regular member of the Russian women’s team, which won the online olympiad, and world and European champions. As a part of the team, Polina won gold medals in the Russian team championships in different disciplines.
Finally, at the end of 2022, she achieved her biggest success so far, by winning the won bronze medal at the women’s world blitz championship.
